Although an executive chair will generally last longer (often because there is less time spent in it), if you are buying a traditional office chair on wheels, it probably won't last more than a few years. This is because there is a hydraulic system within them that eventually gets worn out. Also, when you are looking at chairs that are either mesh or covered in fabric, then eventually wear and tear will take its toll.
Price
Obviously, everyone wants the best price on their office chair, but if you are shopping in your local office supply store, you can pretty much forget about that. They don't sell enough of these chairs to be competitive in price; therefore, it is always better to shop online for office chairs and all office furniture in general.
